Designed to take in as much sun as possible, this beautiful 3-bedroom home fills the large lifestyle section it sits on. Built on a sloping section, the excavation for this project was crucial to ensure the home took in the panoramic views of Mount Maunganui.
The landscaping is a stunning blend of native and non-native planting. Set in such a picturesque location, the client needed a home that took full advantage of the section. The home uses strong lines, a dark colour palette, classic building forms, materials and Colorsteel cladding to contrast the lush green spaces.
The home showcases a recycled timber pole retaining wall as a distinctive feature. The timber was sourced from the historic Wellington Wharf, providing the residence with a rich sense of heritage. This unique element posed an exciting challenge for the Davy Construction team, as each hefty post weighs between 400-500kg. With precision and skill, the team craned them into position and meticulously scaffolded them. Obtaining council permission to ensure compliance with regulations added to the effort, but the end results proved truly rewarding.
The exceptional home has decorative vaulted ceilings and two living spaces to provide volume to the home. Serving as a functional centrepiece of the home boasts a designer kitchen that is fit for a professional. Its features include dual sink areas, ample bench space and a stunning oak benchtop on the kitchen island.
The floor plan layout was split in two. The eastern wing of the home is where the master suite resides, complete with an ensuite and spacious walk-in wardrobe, while the opposite side of the home has two double bedrooms and a casual lounge area.
Making the most of the expansive property is a quality 130 sqm Letts shed, providing extra space and endless possibilities to maximise this property.
